Installation of heavy machinery & Equipment

Types of Boiler Insulation:

There are several types of boiler insulation and insulation materials available.

Boiler insulation commonly used for boilers and pipes includes:

  • High-density fiberglass designed for pipes or flat sections
  • Fiberglass blankets or batts
  • Molded, fire brick, pre-cast, or cast-in-place insulation
  • Spray-on ceramic or foam (more common in cold applications)

Insulation is typically covered with metal, plastic, paper, etc., to protect it from impact, UV exposure, and moisture. We also offer steam boiler services.

Insulation is crucial for employee safety, energy efficiency, and corrosion prevention. However, dealing with insulation, especially older types containing asbestos, can be complex.

All hot surfaces should be insulated, including:

  • Steam lines and hot water pipes
  • Condensate return lines and collection vessels
  • Boilers, deaerators, blowdown vessels, valves, fittings, and controls.

While uninsulated pipes are rare, poorly insulated ones are common. Insulation must be in good condition to be effective; wet insulation is worse than none.

Benefits of Insulation:

  • Reduces energy costs
  • Prevents moisture buildup
  • Enhances safety and protection
  • Reduces emission of pollutants.
